NGC1499: John Bozeman
John Bozeman’s NGC 1499, The California Nebula, is an emission type located in the constellation Perseus that resembles the shape of the State of California. The nebula is extremely difficult to see. It can be observed using a H-Beta filter in a rich-field telescope under dark skies. It is some 1,000 light years from Earth.
